I’m not sure I will ever be a true Tommy Hanson fan. His lack of consistency has always bothered me, and I’ve still yet to be convinced he will be our staff ace. Luckily, he still has time to pull that together, and I want him to. When he stops leading the league in HBP, I’ll be happier too.
Cyborg Tommy Hanson, however, will always have a special place in my heart.
April 3rd, 2011 at 9:18 amI don’t mind the HBP – I wish he had a little more command of who and when, but HBP for a good pitcher are not necessarily a bad thing.
April 3rd, 2011 at 9:51 amHanson for Pujols straight up.
(A Rasmus would be fine too).
April 3rd, 2011 at 9:59 amCostello and the Imposters this early in the season? I don’t mind that at all.
April 3rd, 2011 at 10:19 amForgive me if this has been mentioned before, but did everyone else know that Dan Uggla’s middle name was Cooley? That made me happy.
April 3rd, 2011 at 10:45 amWhy is Jurrjen’s scheduled to get off the DL April 16th when it was retroactive to March 25th? That’s a lot longer than 15 days what am I missing?
April 3rd, 2011 at 11:10 amTeheran starting season at AAA.
April 3rd, 2011 at 11:21 amInteresting that the Braves would suddenly become aggressive with Teheran, as conservative as they have been with his promotion.
April 3rd, 2011 at 11:24 amThere’s no reason for Teheran not to start the year in AAA. If the Braves still view him as an option for June or later than he needs to be in Gwinnett

April 3rd, 2011 at 11:42 am#Braves lineup: 1. Prado LF, 2. McLouth CF, 3. Jones 3B, 4.McCann C, 5. Uggla 2B, 6. Heyward RF, 7. Gonzalez SS, 8. Freeman 1B, 9. Hudson P
Braves signed Proctologist to a AAA contract.
April 3rd, 2011 at 11:48 amGo Huddy!
April 3rd, 2011 at 11:51 am#11 – ridiculous
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:04 pm#11–Old habits die hard….
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:30 pmThese announcers for the Nationals really suck.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:39 pmMcCann looks like a completely different person after losing all that weight.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:42 pmTim Hudson, ladies and gentlemen.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:48 pm@6 That must be day he will pitch. Better to have someone else active until that day.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:50 pmDammit.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:58 pmOur starters sure are throwing a ton of pitches per inning.
April 3rd, 2011 at 12:59 pmyes they are
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:03 pmYeah, who is this color guy for the Nats booth? Some ex-player with a skater boy voice?
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:10 pmNone other then FP santangelo. Catchphrase: “good old fashioned country fastball”
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:17 pmBethany, the radio link is giving me really weird gospel music – are you getting the game?
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:18 pmThe link didn’t work for me yesterday either :-/
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:27 pmI was promised offense this season.
Not to be impatient or anything.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:27 pm26—At least Zimmermann is good. Getting shut down by Hernandez and Lannan has been maddening, though.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:31 pmhttp://65.60.11.2:8012/
works for me, click “listen” at the top and open the playlist in something like vlc player.
Edit: Or just open the address in media player.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:33 pmAhh FP Santangelo. He of admitting to PED use. I did notice “Good ol’ country fastball” used by him like 10,000 times yesterday.
As a snarky fan I think I am sometimes too hard on announcers, as I’m sure I would be pretty bad at filling all that air time. But like any profession, I suppose there are good ones (Boog) and not so good ones (FP, Chip).
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:35 pmAwesome! Might want to delete that in a sec – believe it or not their are bots that look for that sort of thing.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:36 pmJunky runs, but we will take them.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:42 pmWe were promised offense, and we get Nate (Mc)Louth. (When does he lose the Mc again, Mac?)
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:44 pmMcLouth is just a giant pile of suck.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:44 pmI really don’t like McLouth very much.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:45 pmHudson is dealing now.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:48 pmThe most disturbing thing from McLouth this series has been how many swings-and-misses he’s had. He looks just like last year. He’s generally done a good job of working counts, but he just swings and misses (on strikes!) SO MUCH.
April 3rd, 2011 at 1:49 pmCooley!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:02 pm@36 – McLouth still looks like he’s guessing; he isn’t swinging with authority at strikes, and even when he does swing at a strike, Nate’s not making good contact. He had a sac fly opportunity in the 5th and would have succeeded, had he managed to hit the ball more than 200 feet.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:02 pmAt the game. Great catch by uggla
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:07 pm@32
I don’t remember him ever earning it back..
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:09 pmTodd Coffey and Mark Bowman at a Golden Corral.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:16 pmWalking McLouth… Gotta make ‘em pay for that!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:16 pmWalk McLouth to get to Chipper. Brilliant!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:17 pmWalk Chipper to get to McCann. Brilliant!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:22 pmShift kills them. Nice!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:23 pmHaha. Two runs. Thanks for the walks.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:23 pmLove it when BMac hits against the shift like that.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:26 pmWow, Timmy is dealing today!!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:31 pmHuddy has retired 17 in a row. Beauty!
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:31 pmAnd Heyward gets his OPS over 1.000 with his second hit of the season.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:34 pmWTF?
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:37 pmNow Heyward has his first glass heel moment of the year.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:37 pmI was wondering how the umps were going to justify calling Heyward out. Happy to see they changed it to the right call.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:40 pmReally impressed by Freddies patience
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:40 pmCan’t really complain with the bottom of the order this series.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:41 pmhey, back representing NJ here, hope to post a little more here this season
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:41 pmlol
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:43 pmMe too.
Great looking inside out swing, good patience.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:44 pmWho is warming up? Please not Kimbrel, Venters, Moylan, or EOF
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:46 pmAnd McLouth finally delivers… now that we’re already up by six runs.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:47 pmwell, he’s proven in the past that he can hit AAA pitchers. We already knew he could. Let’s see him hit a starter now.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:49 pmVenters and EOF were warming up, EOF sat down again (according to the radio guys). Not sure if the Lisp or anyone is loosening up now.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:49 pm@26. There you go, Adam.
April 3rd, 2011 at 2:58 pmUgh. Why the hell is Venters pitching?
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:02 pmVenters pitching with an 11-1? You can count on me as an official Fredi Gonzalez detractor.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:03 pmI’m guessing he was already fully warmed up and all that.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:06 pmEspecially With a four game series against a decent offensive club starting tomorrow, this is a premium Sherrill, Lisp or Linebrink scenario.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:06 pmProbably one of those “well he’s warmed up may as well use him” type things. I’ll never understand that theory.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:06 pmWhy is he even fully warmed up? It hasn’t been a save situation in hours!
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:08 pmMaybe Fredi thinks that going from Thursday until Monday is a good way for Venters to lose his edge? Otherwise, I got nothing.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:10 pmThere’s no way to slice this where it doesn’t look like terrible management to me.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:16 pm11-2 win. Nothing to be positive about there!
Seriously, I’ll take as many of these games as they’re willing to give, off of relievers or starters. It’s a long season guys.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:26 pm63 – Yep. Feels good, feels right.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:27 pmRecapped.
April 3rd, 2011 at 3:36 pm
