I think I’ve managed to go my entire life without making one of those retarded “first!” posts at the beginning of a thread where someone just posts to say they were the first person to post in a new thread.
I really hate those.
April 26th, 2009 at 9:34 amlike, til now, you mean?
April 26th, 2009 at 9:45 amWhat kind of scaled back Sunday afternoon lineup is Bobby going to throw out to make it the hardest way possible to get the sweep
April 26th, 2009 at 10:15 amI was quite impressed with Kawakami’s starts so far. He looked really dominant for some innings and will only get more comfortable and therefore better, I hope.
April 26th, 2009 at 10:27 amBea Arthur died. Yeah, it sucks.
April 26th, 2009 at 10:36 amDarn, she would have been one of our better options for clean-up this year.
April 26th, 2009 at 10:52 am1. K Johnson, 2B
April 26th, 2009 at 11:23 am2. Y Escobar, SS
3. C Jones, 3B
4. C Kotchman, 1B
5. J Francoeur, RF
6. B Jones, LF
7. J Schafer, CF
8. D Ross, C
9. K Kawakami, P
Brandon Jones is in the starting lineup today!
April 26th, 2009 at 11:29 amNice inning.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:24 pmCincy announcers are idiots.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:30 pmIs anyone else watching this game on extra innings? According to the Red’s broadcasters, not only did Jordan Schafer TEST positive for HGH, but he also admitted to it.
I’m pretty sure Schafer hasn’t come out admitting to taking HGH. And isn’t it pretty common knowledge that the MLB doesn’t test for HGH? Idiots..
April 26th, 2009 at 12:35 pmGood, someone else caught that besides me.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:38 pmRe: The Mets
Daniel Murphy made a great play yesterday in LF, but he just had another one of those misjudge-a-fly-ball-and-fall-down doubles. He beginning to make Matt Diaz look like Willie Mays.
Re: The Late Bea Arthur
Never really watched “The Golden Girls” a whole lot, but I was a big fan of “Maude” when I was a kid. Well-written, sure, but it might’ve had as much to do with Adrienne Barbeau.
BTW, Mac’s on a roll with the Elvis Costello picks. “Shipbuilding” is one of the greatest songs ever written about the costs of war. FWIW, EC himself has said that it’s the best lyrics he’s ever written.
Yup, nice toss by Ross.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:40 pmWow, a free out and a free strike!
April 26th, 2009 at 12:40 pmI presume we can all agree we’re glad we have Dave Ross?
April 26th, 2009 at 12:41 pmEC is 6-0 this year. We keep winning, we keep getting Elvis.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:42 pmWell, he’s got plenty of songs, so…
April 26th, 2009 at 12:43 pmWasn’t locating quite as well, but they’re definitely not squaring him up. KK’s had like two dribblers out in front of the plate already.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:44 pmI noticed that too, mraver. And the leadoff hitter hit a tapper back to him, too.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:45 pmWow, Joe may be more musically out of touch than I am.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:46 pmWhat exactly is Owings throwing out there? All of the gun readings are maxing out at like 85.
Also, that dive by Taveras was COMPLETELY gratuetous.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:48 pmNice piece of hitting by Brandon going the other way!
April 26th, 2009 at 1:02 pmIs anyone but Brandon going to show up today?
April 26th, 2009 at 1:07 pmpessimistic thought of the afternoon—1-0 loss with Owings throwing a shut out and hitting a HR
April 26th, 2009 at 1:07 pmFirst hard hit ball of the day off KK.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:11 pmI was just going to post “anyone else tempted to walk Bruce here?’
April 26th, 2009 at 1:14 pmWhat a donk hit for a homerun.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:15 pmThe Cincy announcers keep talking about Braves scout Bobby Wine. Was he a ss for someone in the 60’s early 70’s?
April 26th, 2009 at 1:16 pmToday at Chop-n-Change, an interview with our very own Ububba.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:19 pmHey, how about teaching our pitchers how to bunt? Derek Lowe AND Kenshin Kawakami seem to have serious issues with it.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:23 pmUgg. Offense….
April 26th, 2009 at 1:30 pmLucky break for the reds. That was 2 easy.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:36 pmGreat interview Alex and Ububba, reminds me of why I love this site! People who love Braves baseball and so much more!
April 26th, 2009 at 1:38 pmWhat’s up with this Cincy camera crew? Maybe I’m just spoiled by the braves camera crew!
April 26th, 2009 at 1:41 pmOkay, THAT was a great play by Frenchy. I wish the runner had been going, too, because that throw was crazy-good.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:42 pmJeez. That ball was hit and back to Ross in about 1.5 seconds
April 26th, 2009 at 1:43 pmThis got out of hand rather quickly…
April 26th, 2009 at 1:49 pmKK had bad luck on what should have been a DP grounder but shouldn’t the hook have come when it got to 6-0? Isn’t this why the team carries Parr, Carlyle, etc.?
April 26th, 2009 at 1:49 pmKenshin kinda sucks.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:56 pmDavid Ross doesn’t!
April 26th, 2009 at 2:10 pmOh, for Christ’s sake, Yunel.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:12 pmThat’s just bad baseball right there.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:13 pmWTH! A chance for 2 on and Chipper coming up!
April 26th, 2009 at 2:13 pmThat was a great throw by Bruce!
April 26th, 2009 at 2:16 pmCody Ross is pitching for Florida.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:27 pmWell, at least the Mets are getting waxed, too.
And how ’bout that weeklong Marlins freefall?
And thanks, Joelk.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:27 pmTotally off-topic, but I saw this on the web and found it remarkable:
The Florida Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 7-4 and became the first team in Major League history to sweep a three-game series in which it trailed going into the ninth inning of each game.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:28 pmIs this cincy announcer drunk? He just called Prado Infante who he just announced last inning in center field!
Is it just my imagination or is this kind of thing happening more often?
April 26th, 2009 at 2:37 pmEscobar getting thrown out trying to stretch that single into a double with 2 outs and Chipper coming up to bat next DOWN 8 TO 1 was really, really stupid. Him getting into scoring position wouldn’t have been the difference in the game. Though we were down 8-1, so it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
April 26th, 2009 at 2:47 pmBrief, desultory recap is up.
