Just watched Jurrjens performance from yesterday again and what I noticed most (as I think someone mentioned in the game thread), is that I can’t think of any uniforms in any kind of sports worse than those powderpuff suits the Jays donned.
The astros actually wore those uni a few days ago… So awful. I’m really sad I didn’t get to watch Jair pitch, but baseball has to take a back seat when it’s a first date.
Ah, so the Jays wore them as part of some throwback stuff. That explains it a little, I don’t really watch that much American League ball and thought they were a regular occasion.
So… one hour until game time? It’s about 1:10 am here. Just wondering if I should stay up to follow the game. My game is likely to be rained out tomorrow.

Nice. If you don’t mind me asking, what was the movie? I haven’t seen anything great in a while, and since I only get to about five movies a year I need to make them count. Although I saw Get Smart and thought it was pretty good, but I’m a huge Steve Carell guy some maybe my take was off.

Swapping Norton and McCann plus Lillibridge and Jones because of the lefty pitching. Bobby is hilarious. There is no way McCann and Jones could handle THE John Parrish whose last decent effort in the majors was in 2005.
At least he left KJ third. I’d have given Lilli a crack at the top of the order and of course wouldn’t have my best hitter hitting 6th, but it’s alright, I guess, considering who we have to work with.
So… are both Chipper and Escobar headed to the DL? I feel like that’s gonna happen. And if it does on days McCann sits, it’s possible the Braves will post a less impressive lineup than most AA squads. I don’t mean that to be hyperbole either.

Some of those old uniforms do resemble something from Sid & Marty Kroft, and not just Toronto’s either. The Brave’s old baby blue road uni’s weren’t great either.
Watching the replay from last night earlier, when Matt Stairs was up to bat early the announcers said he was leading the club with 8 homers, and I thought no way in hell I heard that correctly, but incredibly enough…
Two of the three big league hitters in this lineup get the Braves a run. Imagine if they had eight big league hitters in their lineup? Can you imagine what that’d be like? I seem to recall a team like that…
Francoeur is no better a hitter than Brandon Jones or Greg Norton. At least not this season. He is definitely one of, if not the biggest problem the Braves have–if only because he gets the highest number of plate appearances.
Hudson didn’t look good today and Bennett couldn’t get out of it when he was poised to do so… oh well.
Lillibridge was hitting .205 at Richmond so nobody should be surprised….I would not mind seeing Diory Hernandez come up instead. I doubt he would be any worse….
When do the Braves say “enough” on this? Geez, if it was some 30+ year old one-year free agent signing they’d have already released him. Why is it so completely unthinkable to the Braves’ management to send Francoeur to the minors?
why does bobby continually put rookie pitchers (or very young pitchers) into extremely tight situations? the payoff just isnt worth the risk of ruining confidence.
lets see….we could have bases loaded with 1 out…instead we have runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. jeff francoeur kills rally. new slogan: “jeff francoeur: killing rallies since 2005″.
