September 24th, 2006 at 10:12 amPrepare for a loss today, Rockies pitcher Juan Morillo is making his major league debut.
September 24th, 2006 at 10:33 amhaha… I thought about that a couple days ago when I saw that too!
September 24th, 2006 at 11:00 amI kind of hope they do lose today so that they don’t have to suffer the indignity of being mathematically eliminated by the Mets.
September 24th, 2006 at 11:09 amLineups:

And is it really a good idea to start our pitcher with the strongest flyball tendencies at Coors?
September 24th, 2006 at 1:43 pmStrong lineup for us. James is a little worrisome, but we suffered through Davies last night so anything this afternoon will be an improvement.
September 24th, 2006 at 2:02 pmMr. Morillo, welcome to the majors. Think we’ll get any runs out of this?
September 24th, 2006 at 2:11 pmMCCANN!
September 24th, 2006 at 2:16 pmBrian!
September 24th, 2006 at 2:16 pmWOOHOO!!! MCCANN!!!
September 24th, 2006 at 2:17 pmWhat? Oh.
And Frenchy makes the first out, as expected. Although he actually did avoid a weak groundout on the first pitch- he waited for the third.
September 24th, 2006 at 2:18 pm5 runs on 1 hit. That says more about the pitching than about our offense. Fortunately Diaz’s hit makes it a little less funny-looking.
September 24th, 2006 at 2:26 pmWhen that one hit is a grand slam, it’s hard to say that it says little about our offense.
September 24th, 2006 at 2:37 pmExcept for that one hit. I guess it does show patience, which is kindof funny. Our offense this year usually has not been a synonym of patience.
September 24th, 2006 at 2:42 pmMcCann’s first multihomer game. Weird, since he seems to bunch his homers.
September 24th, 2006 at 3:12 pmWhy pinch hit for Laroche? Was he hurt?
September 24th, 2006 at 3:32 pmMcCann or Mauer?
September 24th, 2006 at 3:32 pmWho knows Ron. But I do know I no longer think Scott Thorman is anything. I remember how exciting it was when Jordan went on the DL and the great “Mighty Thor” was coming up. This is it? Lame.
September 24th, 2006 at 3:34 pmLooks like seven runs wasn’t enough. Are the Braves really going to lose this? And what’s with James hitting our old friend Vinny on his special day?
September 24th, 2006 at 3:42 pmBrian McCann and Chuck James in the dugout:
Brian: It’s not your fault.
September 24th, 2006 at 3:45 pmChuck: But…
Brian: It’s not your fault.
Chuck: If only I…
Brian: It’s not your fault.
Chuck: I should have…
Brian: It’s not your fault.
Brian: I hit 2 homers.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:01 pmChuck: I gave up 2 homers.
Joe and Chip sound like if they were the Braves’ general manager they’d try to sign Vinny out of impending retirement this offseason.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:08 pmJoe and Chip are morons. Don’t listen to anything they say.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:12 pmThe curse of the Braves’ announcer praise continues.
Anyone notice how every time they praise a certain Braves player, especially a pitcher, he melts down?
LaRoche has a great glove….three batters latter one rolls through his legs.
Reitsma has a great changeup….Cliff Floyd first pitch changeup homer.
Hudson dominates the Rockies….same inning meltdown.
Yates hasn’t given up a run in ten innings….gives up two to tie it.
And the most recent: Boy is McBride getting better….triple. Two outs runner of third, how about McBride? Looking like he’ll get out of that leadoff triple unhurt….two out double follows.
Shut up Chip, Joe, Jeff, Bob, Don and everyone except Skip.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:33 pm*thumps his head on the head of his chair* And he didn’t even make it to first! That was a gimmie!
September 24th, 2006 at 4:45 pmOh, and don’t forget the “He is such a wonderful 2-out hitter” for Frenchy.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:48 pm“*thumps his head on the head of his chair* And he didn’t even make it to first! That was a gimmie!”
Chip Carey: BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TWO-OUT RBIs!?
September 24th, 2006 at 4:52 pmWE LOSE!
Tyler Yates is the new DANNY! Except Schuerholz wants him as set-up man next season!
September 24th, 2006 at 4:53 pmYates is awesome!
September 24th, 2006 at 4:54 pmThis is all part of yates plan. He suckers them into false security by giving up a game winning homer and then an insurance triple and then he…. Wait thats a terrible plan.
September 24th, 2006 at 4:57 pm*Jerry Seinfeld voice* And you want to be my setup man…
September 24th, 2006 at 4:59 pmLittle late with those outs there, aren’t you, Kali?
September 24th, 2006 at 5:00 pmI frigging knew Yates was going to blow that. Good grief.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:02 pmHonestly, Schuerholz must be in trouble with a bookie to want Yates back on this team. And Cox must be senile to let him pitch. Why not more Villareal or someone in the 8th inning, and less of a guy who is in his first year back from repairing a rotator cuff and wasn’t any good before that.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:02 pmChip Carey: The Colorado fans are booing the walking of Todd Helton, but they should be happy, that gives Vinny another at-bat.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:03 pmPhillies win, Braves are now officially knocked out of any chance of the playoffs.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:05 pmWell, this is good in the way Ron suggested- the Mets won’t get to eliminate us. We’ll do it ourselves, thank you very much.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:09 pm.500-O-METER: 6-0
…
HAHAHAHHAHAHA
September 24th, 2006 at 5:10 pmgood god almighty, could anyone else totally tell that kali would blow that
September 24th, 2006 at 5:23 pm@39
*raises his hand* Me.
September 24th, 2006 at 5:30 pmthat was terrible!
September 24th, 2006 at 5:33 pmI know how to fix the pitching staff. Let’s let Kali start! I’m pretty sure we won’t worry any more about blown holds and or saves…
